Welcome to the wonderful world of the keytar synth. I offer keytar lessons in Nottingham. The keytar became popular during the synth pop sounds of the early 1980’s and combines a keyboard and some of the acoustic nuances of a guitar.
Both keyboard and guitar skills are needed to play one and the keytar is a fun instrument to explore. Used extensively by many bands in the 80’s and more recently by artistes such as Lady Gaga, Will.i.am, Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder, Muse, Dream Theater and many others including the late great ‘Prince’
Keytars are portable so if you are wanting to rock away with the other band members you can.
A keytar allows you to move about freely and interact with your audience rather than being stuck behind racks of equipment.
What Will I Learn During My Keytar Lessons
We will look at all aspects of the keytar, it’s sounds, what techniques can be used, what all the controls do and many tips and tricks that both keyboard players and guitarists use such as bending, sustain, tapping, harmonics to name a few. We will also look at maintenance and care.
